Lecturer in Uniformed Protective Services

We are looking to add to our public and protective services team with a lecturer from a policing background to strengthen Hugh Baird’s position as a market leader in policing education in Merseyside. You will be required to deliver an innovative and flexible range of teaching and learning materials across courses that provide high quality, accessible learning opportunities and an exceptional student experience in line with the college’s strategic objectives, ensuring that employability and ‘real-world’ learning are at the heart of the curriculum.

With a desire to engage in exploration which influences leading edge practice, informs and inspires the research-led curriculum and teaching and contributes to continuing subject expertise, you will be required to deliver to a diverse range of learners across a number of programmes from our 14-16 College and wider FE college learners (Public Services/Police Cadets) to those undertaking higher education within the L20 University Centre.

A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent professional qualifications or experience is esential combined with teaching experience in Uniformed Protective Services and substantial experience of working in Policing including in-depth and up-to-date technical and applied knowledge. Evidence of a wide-reaching network of contacts which can be utilised to enrich curriculum delivery is also required.
