Welcome to Ada!
We are the Government’s National College for Digital Skills with a focused mission: To educate and empower the next generation of diverse digital talent.
We received Good with Outstanding features in our first Ofsted inspection in October 2018.
Context of the Role:
The pandemic presented us with a number of challenges to navigate. Our plans to scale and develop our apprenticeship programmes were impacted by us having to move at speed to offer a fully remote programme and economic uncertainty impacted our industry partners’ hiring plans.
However, there have been opportunities for Ada too, we have developed and reviewed all aspects of our remote delivery more quickly than anticipated. We moved quickly to a fully remote delivery during the first 2020 lockdown and our Autumn Launch pad (6-week initial training) was our first remote Launchpad. We were able to adapt from learner feedback and worked to improve resources and teaching methods. We were thrilled to report that learner satisfaction rates were the highest they have ever been following February 2021's fully remote launchpad reflecting our progression and the quality of our resources and delivery.
This Autumn we will have our biggest cohort of apprentices to date. From this position we now feel confident that we can plan to scale up each year and make progress against our target of 10,000 lives transformed by 2031.
Our current priority, essential to our ability to scale, is to focus on growing numbers of learners and employers and ensuring that we achieve targets for recruiting talent from underserved communities. The tricky questions are how and when? We need a strategy to achieve our 10,000 Lives by 2031 and meet the diverse entry-level tech talent needs of industry partners. We would like to undertake a Strategic Review of our Apprenticeship provision and other post-18 Provision. We would also like to efficiently allocate funds to build out and expand our range of courses, update and evolve our curriculum and support our employer partners to attract and select diverse entry-level tech talent.
We’d really like to hear from you, if you….
- Have a background in strategy consulting
- Possess a strong grasp of the British education system, in particular skills-based education and ideally apprenticeships
- Can manage senior stakeholders with great care and empathy
- Can run effective focus groups and lead impactful stakeholder research
- Are passionate about providing tech opportunities for underrepresented communities
- Work collaboratively in a team to produce high quality deliverables
- Care deeply about providing a world class education programme and bridging the gap between education and industry
- Are passionate about the College we’re building at Ada and want to make a positive difference
