Youth Work Officer (term time 40 weeks)

Each year approximately 500 young people choose to continue their studies with us either as a full-time student or apprentice, a further 200 choose to undertake a university-level qualification with us and around 100 adult students.  Overall we have around 5,500 full-time students in the College and 700 in our University Campus.

Youth Worker (term time 40 weeks)

We are looking for a passionate youth worker who haS extensive experience of engaging with young people. You will work directly with students across the college, supporting faculties with a range of engagement strategies, designing and promoting activities for students in response to raising attendance and punctuality. You will work collaboratively with faculty staff, student welfare officers, safeguarding and safety and engagement in providing a safe and trusting environment for students to flourish. You will carry out home visits, parental/guardian liaison and attend wider community based visits to support and engage with students effectively. You will have the opportunity to support community outreach initiatives designed to support recruitment in line with college targets and attend meetings, case conferences and reviews when needed.

Applicants must have a level 3 or above professional youth worker related discipline including social work, youth work, community work or outreach work. Safeguarding training and a minimum or GCSE/L2 in English and maths.

The role will require you to embed and work to the college’s values; working with Integrity, having Ambition to help our learners succeed and being Inclusive to learners and colleagues alike.
