WHAT WE DO 

As part of the Luminate Group, Harrogate College is in an exciting period of growth.

The Electrical provision always attracts a lot of interest and has real potential. There has been a lot of external work to build relationships with local stakeholder, especially employers who are seeking a reliable educational provision to support their businesses. This is especially true in regard to the local electricians, many of whom operate as independent businesses.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will be responsible for the ensuring the provision works towards the college standards in relation to retention, achievement, attendance and positive progression rates which will be achieved by supporting and maintaining high quality and effective delivery across the course team.

This will include you delivering and assessing essential knowledge and understanding to learners whilst looking to develop and adapt the course team to maximise its effectiveness and efficiency.

You will also be key in helping to make decisions to stabilise the department and actively influence changes to promote growth.

You will have the line management of staff working within that provision which will involve helping to support and develop yourself and individuals professionally as well as a team.

You will be expected to maintain and update knowledge of the subject/professional area and co-operate in any staff development activities.

YOUR PROFILE 

The right candidate will be passionate about the Electrical industry but also about education and have the drive and enthusiasm to develop a programme that will ensure learners are able to progress and develop. 

Experience of the electrical industry is essential, as is a teaching and/or assessing background.

An experience of course management would be desirable as would any previous management experience.
