Luminate Education Group consists of; Harrogate College (HC), Keighley College (KC), Leeds City College (LCC), Leeds Conservatoire (LC) and White Rose Academies Trust (WRAT).  Luminate Education Group is one of the fastest improving and most innovative education groups in the country. 

This is a fixed term post for 24 months. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Over a two-year apprenticeship, you will be learning to become an outstanding teacher, whose main duties will include:

  • Study towards a higher level teaching apprenticeship (L5 Diploma in Education and Training) over a period of 24 months while in post

  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans

  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners

  • Create individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/course and track and monitor progress against these

  • Be responsible for recording student progress and supporting students to achieve targets

  • Deliver a minimum of 100 teaching hours over the two-year period

YOUR PROFILE 


You will hold the relevant highest level vocational qualification in the subject you wish to teach (at least at Level 3)

  • Hold English, maths and ICT at Level 2 prior to commencing training or prior to completion of the apprenticeship

  • You will have relevant up to date subject knowledge in specific subject area (e.g. Hair and Beauty, Sport, Electrical Installation, Plumbing, Dance etc.) and up to date knowledge of workplace practice

  • Have the ability to follow direction and constructive feedback, to help support development as a teaching practitioner, applying theory to practical application in an education setting

  • Have excellent organisational skills, to ensure deadlines are met

  • Have the ability to be adaptable and flexible towards the requirements of different learner need

  • You will promote of a safe environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults to learn in

Many of the new routes require sponsorship from an employer. Luminate Education Group is not a licenced sponsor. We are unable to employ anyone without current, and appropriate right to work in the UK.  

If you are an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen and you were resident in the UK on or before 31 December 2020, you have until 30 June 2021 to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme, you can continue to prove your right to work in the UK with your passport and identity card up until 30 June 2021. 

There is no change to immigration and right to work for British and Irish Citizens.
