CU London is seeking a Course Leader for Professional Policing. We are looking for a positive, adaptable and emotionally intelligent individual who can demonstrate a range of academic and administrative skills relevant to higher education course management. We will consider applications for experienced course managers as well as those who can demonstrate they are ready to progress into their first academic management role.

As Course Leader, you will be responsible for the management of the BA (Hons) Professional Policing course and the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) course. Experience managing or teaching on higher-level apprenticeship programmes is desirable along with an ability to work collaboratively with employers.

You will be responsible for the line management of associated Course Tutors, supporting and challenging the team to achieve a high standard of performance in teaching, learning and assessment, student support and curriculum development. You will be responsible for supporting student recruitment and ensuring retention, progression and completion rates are achieved to expected levels.

Reporting to the Head of Curriculum, you will work as an integral member of the academic team, contributing to enhancing the experience for all students studying within this curriculum area. You will be expected to adopt a collegiate approach to working with colleagues in CU Coventry and CU Scarborough to ensure high standards in cross-campus working.

You will lead modules and undertake teaching, learning and assessment duties on associated courses. Acting as a role model, you will promote a high standard in classroom practice and actively engage with events, workshops and extracurricular activities. An ability to network and engage with external stakeholders to enrich the student experience would be an advantage. An excellent standard in IT and communication skills, along with the ability to meet deadlines, is essential for this role.

CU London operates over two locations in Dagenham and Greenwich. You will be assigned a base campus on appointment but there is an expectation that you will travel between campuses in response to business needs.
