WHAT WE DO
The 14-16 Skills Development Programme is due to move in May 2021 to Mabgate to a purpose-built environment for our pre 16 provision. This will incorporate facilities to support students prepare for adulthood alongside studying English and maths and having the opportunity to ‘try out’ vocational courses to support their progression. The 14-16 Skills Development Programme is for students aged 14-16 who are unable to access mainstream Year 10 and Year 11 provision. In 2020/21 we have 86 pre 16 students. Students referred to this course often have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and/or additional SEND needs which has resulted in their disengagement from mainstream provision. Many of the students who attend this provision have an Education, Health and Care Plan. This role is extremely varied with direct responsibility for the success of the area support the Head of Department in all aspects of the department’s leadership and management, particularly around quality of curriculum, course reviews, curriculum design and delivery
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- You will support the Head of Department in all aspects of the department’s leadership and management, particularly around quality of curriculum, course reviews, curriculum design and delivery
- You will support maintaining and developing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- You will ensure the Skills Development Programme team is efficiently run and delivers its financial targets
- You will keep up to date with relevant 14 – 16 Practice and any statutory requirements
- You will ensure that Local Authority and School Partner requirements and timeframes are met
- You will carry out walkthroughs to ensure high quality provision of classroom or virtual support
- You will contribute towards audit and compliance of evidence required for all aspects of the quality process
- You will create learning resources and deliver training to aid the provision of 14-16 year olds
- You will attend meetings and as required.

- You will have substantial experience in teaching 14-16 year old students
- You will have the energy and drive required to develop the curriculum
