Lecturer in Public & Protective Services

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good. Operating across Kirklees with centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.  

Candidates must have a proven track record of delivering high quality teaching, learning and assessment in FE sector to Uniform Protective Services students, specialising in Law, Criminology, Government Policies, Outdoor Education and Citizenship. The successful candidate will lead on level 3 delivery on both the Military and Emergency Service pathways and have experience in delivering on both BTEC and NCFE qualifications. The successful candidate will also be a study programme lead for level 2 and level 3 Public and Protective Service’s groups.

The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a level 3 in a relevant subject area, a minimum of a level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) and a level 5 (or above) teaching qualification. You will either have or be willing to work towards a level 4 in a subject specific area also. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
