Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

The Student Services Team provide counselling, disability advice and support and a wide range of wellbeing and support activities relating to student experience and achievement.

Over the years and in common with other educational institutes, we have seen a significant increase in both extent and severity of mental health difficulties in the student community.  This role will focus on assessing the needs of students who present with emotional difficulties in order to ensure that appropriate interventions are put in place.  This will range, but not limited to, providing counselling; therapeutic support, making referrals to external agencies, and liaising with external professionals to ensure appropriate care and support.

You will have a professional counselling qualification and be a BACP, or BABCP accredited counsellor, UKCP registered psychotherapist, or HCPC registered counselling psychologist or eligible for such accreditation. We are looking for someone who has experience in providing counselling; of conducting mental health assessments including risk assessments.
