Apprentice Foundry Technician

Providing technical data through testing and calibration of sand mixers, material coin samples and other associated foundry operations. Monitoring and assisting production line flow and quality assurance. Undertaking research and development projects.

Duties / Tasks will include:

• Microstructure analysis of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Processing and recording of sample material for mechanical testing
• Hardness testing of cast materials
• Loss on ignition testing
• Spectrometer analysis
• Alloy formulation and planning
• Sand mixer calibration and analysis
• Coating testing
• General process control maintenance and development
• General foundry duties as required
