Hours: 37 per week / 52 weeks
Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good. Operating across Kirklees with centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury. This post is based at the Engineering Centre in the Huddersfield town centre.

As an Electrical Engineering Support Facilitator you will have the responsibility for providing practical support within the workshops to the Electrical Engineering department.
You will exercise good and safe workshop practice and have appropriate industrial experience in a relevant Electrical/Electronic discipline. Ideally you will have worked in the FE sector but this is not essential, we encourage applications from all sectors.
You must have a broad knowledge of engineering processes and skills with good IT skills including Microsoft Office. The role entails regular communication with teaching staff, instructors, assessors and learners to provide support with materials and equipment/machinery within the workshop environment.
The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) and a level 3 qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
As this role is responsible for the monitoring and checking of all appliances and workshop areas ideally you will be trained in such Health and Safety course as, IOSH Managing Safety and NEBOSH General Certificate, however the college will support successful candidates in these qualifications.
