Gower College Swansea are currently looking for enthusiastic individual to cover the maternity leave of our Welsh Manager to ensure that momentum is not lost on the implementation of our Bilingual/Welsh Development strategy and compliance with the Welsh Language Standards.

The successful candidate will support Faculties and Learning Areas in working towards their Welsh Medium/Bilingual objectives, manage the translation team and oversee the co-ordination of activities and initiatives to raise the profile of the language and culture. The role will also be the lead  on compliance with the Welsh Language Standards.

Educated to Degree level you will ideally hold a recognised Teaching or Training Qualification and have experience of developing/promoting Welsh Language/Bilingual services or resources across a public sector body.

With excellent bilingual communication skills and experience of leading a team, you will be familiar with the requirements of the Welsh Language Standards. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop good partnerships and work as a member of a team are also essential for this post.

Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to completing 6 months service).
