WHAT WE DO
The department of HE Law, Leadership & Business is a dynamic department that delivers a wide range of higher education programmes, professional courses and apprenticeships.
The HE programmes are: LLB(Hons), Policing, Business, Enterprise & Management, Leadership & Management, Travel & Tourism Management and Events Management.
The professional courses and apprenticeships cover a wide range of programmes with the following awarding bodies: AAT, CIPD, Cilex, CMI, CIPS and CICM.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
- Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
- Create individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/course.
- Be responsible for recording student progress Maintain and update knowledge of the subject and / or vocational area
- Maintain and update knowledge of educational research to develop evidence- based practice
- Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
- Reflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students
- Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology
- Carry out internal verification/moderation.
YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for a HE Lecturer with the ability to teach on Level 4, 5 FD Policing and Level 6 BA Hons Policing Top Up.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject, for example Policing, Criminal Justice, Criminology and a Masters in a relevant subject or willingness to enrol on a Masters immediately.
Practical experience of working within or with the police would be an advantage.
This post will also require you to work across campuses, in particular Keighley College and University Centre Leeds.
