Adult Learning Facilitator x 2
Hours: 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good.
We are recruiting for two Adult Learning Facilitators (0.5 posts) in Community Learning to join our team at Kirklees College. The successful candidates will undertake delivery and administrative duties across the department, supporting the Community Learning Development Manager. You will be required to plan and deliver core subjects to adults with a focus on those who are seeking employment, and support the growth of Sector Based Work Academies in partnership with local Job Centres. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, inspiring, and who can support students to achieve their full potential in a positive and engaging learning environment.
The overall purpose of this post is to make a significant contribution to the effective delivery and development of the Community Learning Department, in line with the College’s Quality Improvement and Growth Strategy and to ensure a high quality and relevant learning experience for all students. Courses will be delivered at one of our main centres (Huddersfield / Dewsbury) or in the community, so flexibility will be required.
You will be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering on programmes, giving advice and guidance to students regarding our offer, monitoring and supporting students and ensuring that quality improvement strategies are implemented and complied with, along with ensuring the courses meet the needs of students, employers and the local community.
The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C), a Level 5 teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve one within an agreed timescale and a relevant up to date qualification at Level 3 or above. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English and experience of teaching adults is also essential for this role.
As a learning organisation and as part of our commitment to your continued professional development we may require you to complete an apprenticeship standard or framework that relates to this opportunity.
