As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will learn all the skills you need to be able to carry out your job safely and effectively while working under the supervision of a skilled carpenter. You will also be required to operate outside the skill set of a carpenter to be able to undertake general building / labouring tasks as and when required.
- Discussing plans and following instructions
- Cutting and shaping timber for floorboards, doors, skirting boards and window frames
- Making and fitting wooden structures like staircases, door frames, roof timbers and partition walls
- General site labouring tasks such as demolition, waste management, goods and materials management, any other tasks as you may be directed to undertake whilst working on a building site
- Using a range of hand and power tools
- Follow strict health and safety guidelines
- Keep a clean and tidy work area
