Campus Security Guard

Maintains safe and secure environment for students, employees and visitors by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel, and also controlling entry into the campus under Covid-19 entry restriction requirements.

The Security Guard Duties:

• Walks around premises to investigate signs of intrusion
• Responds to all alarms
• Authorises traders and visitors and employees to enter and exit the premises
• Contacts police or fire brigades in an emergency
• Keeps a log of all visitors
• Writes daily activity reports and provides them to employer on request
• Apprehends criminals or those not adhering to company rules
• Monitors all parking on campus
• Assists any personnel to meetings or events
• Notifies people of rule infractions
• Walks around campus to ensure car parks are properly used
• Provides valuable feedback to management about the security of a business
• Takes care of any parking issues
• Screens individuals as they arrive on the premises as per Covid-19 health requirements and refuse admittance to campus to all those who fail entry under covid-19 requirements.
• Monitors the premises for criminal activity
• Writes daily reports and maintains a diligent record of legal and illegal activities
• attends all campus washrooms and ensure that the facilities are properly used and switch off lights when washrooms are not occupied to save energy
• Stops suspicious activities by asking for identification
• Checks any and all bags for suspicious or prohibited items
• Inspects all points of entry to make sure they are secured
• Stays in contact with other security personnel to make sure the premises is secured at all times
• Answers phone calls after official business hours

Qualifications Required

Security Guard Skills and Qualifications: Holder of ISA membership card or have had equivalent industrial experience, Time Oriented, People Person, Friendly and Supportive, Knowledge of Basic Math Skills, Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills, Basic Computer Literacy, Basic public Law Knowledge
