Maternity cover until 14th January 2022
We are seeking to appoint a Learning Advocate to cover a period of maternity leave, to work with Work Based Learning students who will be studying within the College (Uxbridge, Hayes, Harrow on the Hill and Harrow Weald Campuses), off-site at employers’ premises, and remotely. You would provide literacy and numeracy support for students on GCSE and Functional Skills English and Maths. The role will involve working closely with Lecturers, Assessors, employers and the Learning Support team, taking account of the differing needs of learners.
You should have experience of working with people with literacy or numeracy needs and should possess good communication skills, strong literacy and numeracy skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to students’ learning and achievement. You will be educated to ‘A’ Level standard or equivalent with GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above. You should be well-organised and be able to work effectively on your own initiative. A clean driving licence and your own personal transport is a requirement for this post, and you will need to be able to work flexibly when required.
