CU Coventry are looking to recruit an inspirational individual to the position of Course Leader for Policing within CU Coventry. The individual sought will have already demonstrated an outstanding record with regards to academic and administrative skills in a Higher Education environment and will have primary experience in leading courses and line managing other individuals. Course Leaders maintain their currency in respect of the future HE landscape and will have demonstrated innovative practices with regards teaching, learning & assessment across degree courses, as well as contemporary course design to meet changing markets within the area. In addition, Course Leaders are outstanding tutors, able to demonstrate a contemporary knowledge of Policing and related practices within this diverse field. This area is undergoing constant change and adaptions and it is likely that this post holder will be involved in reviewing the course to ensure its value in the portfolio offered at CU Coventry.

Teaching, curriculum development, attendance and monitoring of students through their courses; promoting student success and progression through active participation in departmental events; devising relevant workshops and presenting at examination boards are key aspects of this role. In addition Course leaders are responsible for managing a small number of staff within the immediate area.

We are looking for an individual who can lead the area through successful accreditation for professional bodies and who demonstrates a passion for continuing development of both self and curriculum. Within the institution you will alongside a number of other middle and senior managers promoting the reputation of this area of work, and the institution as a whole. There may also be a requirement for you to participate in teaching or academic development within the CU Group which involves collaboration at centres. Furthermore, you will have some experience of writing new programmes as you would be expected to contribute to the development of any new degree programmes and to support with any phasing out of relevant degree programmes.
