Our diverse Keighley College Engineering Team of lecturers and assessors has a range of mechanical and electrical engineering skills enabling them to dynamically deliver our engineering courses to apprentices and students. We are looking for an innovative and adaptive person to become a new member of our team to assess and train apprentices in the workshop and the workplace. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial experience in a mechanical or maintenance sector; machinist, milling and turning skills are essential for role. Skills as a CNC programmer, setter, operator or machinist, as well as experience in additive manufacturing and CMM are advantageous to the post.

The main responsibility of our Assessor Coach will be to provide high quality support and training to learners in a controlled workshop environment, along with some workplace visits. The successful candidate will be required to monitor progress, conduct formal reviews, train and assess learners’ competence in line with appropriate industrial and qualification standards and record assessment outcomes. You will also be expected to help prepare learners for their End Point Assessment. Although prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous, full training would be available to a high calibre candidate who can demonstrate a commitment to the post. Relevant Level 3 qualifications in engineering disciplines are essential. An assessor qualification would be desirable or the willingness to work towards one within 6 months. You will be able to demonstrate a wide range of experiences within related industries

Many of the new routes require sponsorship from an employer. Luminate Education Group is not a licenced sponsor. We are unable to employ anyone without current, and appropriate right to work in the UK.  

If you are an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen and you were resident in the UK on or before 31 December 2020, you have until 30 June 2021 to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme, you can continue to prove your right to work in the UK with your passport and identity card up until 30 June 2021. 

There is no change to immigration and right to work for British and Irish Citizens.
