  • Careers Adviser – Term Time (40 weeks)
  • Salary- £24,738 to £26,374 Pro Rata

Oldham College is a medium sized general further education college, with a turnover of almost £25m. It has one main campus in the centre of town, and this in the third phases of a £40m redevelopment which began in 2012. Higher education is taught on a second, dedicated campus, a short walk away. The College delivers a full range of work related education and training, including 16-18 programmes of study, T levels, apprenticeships, adult learning and higher education. It has over 5000 full-time students and 600 undergraduates.   

The College is in the top quartile for 16-18 programmes of study and English GCSE resits, and in apprenticeship provision, but is the second highest performing provider Greater Manchester. The quality of its higher education provision is better than many established universities.

The Role:

You will be part of a friendly, highly driven team and will need to be passionate and enthusiastic when working with our learners, supporting them with their careers choices for the future.

You will need to be innovative and able to deliver inspirational presentations in person and online.  A future facing attitude and exemplary customer service standards are essential. 

You must be able to evidence a wide working knowledge of the education, training and career opportunities post 16 for all learner groups and have knowledge of sources of careers information and the ability to effectively utilise current LMI (Labour Market Information) to the benefit of our learners.  If you are already using the Occupational Maps that will be to your credit.
