We are looking to recruit an engineering apprentice to join the existing team at one of the UK’s newest EfW facilities. Under supervision they will gain direct experience and learn skills to become part of a multi-disciplined team that is capable of performing a wide range of engineering activities.
Under supervision you will:
- Learn about the company and sites safety policies and procedures
- Learn regular operational checks, routines and procedures
- Conduct scheduled planned preventative maintenance
- Repair equipment that has broken down
- Assist with regulatory and statutory inspections on plant and apparatus
- Working to health and safety, environmental and other standards as they apply to the business
- Learn about the control of spares for plant areas
- Learn how to use engineering drawings, manuals and instructions
- Learn how to operate a variety of equipment including forklifts, cranes, MEWP, tooling and workshop machinery
- Gain exposure to safe working practices in an environment that includes: hot works, working at height, LOLER, PUWER, confined spaces, COSHH etc
- Develop competence under the sites Safety Rules

Things to consider
- Working within the waste sector there will be exposure to municipal waste
- Location is not easily accessible via public transport so candidates must be able to get to the work location on time for their shift (7.00am start)

About the employer
Severn Waste Services is the public face of municipal waste management in Worcestershire and Herefordshire. The apprentice role offered will be based at the EnviRecover site in Hartlebury, Worcestershire. EnviRecover is an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility that process over 230,000 tonnes of waste every year.
