Location: Uxbridge/Hayes
We are seeking to appoint a part time Learning Resource Specialist on a fixed term basis, to provide support to our students through the work of the College’s Learning Resource Centres at our Uxbridge and Hayes Campuses.
The roles involve supporting the development and delivery of a modern, innovative, and user-focused environment, both physically and digitally. Responsibilities include dealing with general enquiries from students and staff on busy service desks and by email and telephone, and assisting students on using e-resources, databases and print resources. You would promote learning resources, including online resources and e-books, through various communication methods including social media, whilst ensuring the management of student behaviour to maintain a suitable learning environment at all times. You will have direct responsibility for liaison for a Curriculum Area to support the purchase of resources and deliver study skills and digital literacy sessions to students.
You should be educated to a good standard, with good literacy skills, and have good working knowledge of IT systems. Excellent customer service, team-working, communication and organisational skills are also required, together with a positive, can-do attitude. Experience of having prepared and delivered training is desirable.
Currently, working hours are distributed across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (full days, 9am - 5pm) and Tuesday afternoons.
