Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good. Operating across Kirklees with centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury. The Oldroyd Building will be closing in November and the department will be moving to the new Pioneer Higher Skills Centre with state of the art salons.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a modern building, with excellent on site facilities.
The post requires to teach barbering / hairdressing related subjects at any of the centres utilised by the College. To develop programmes of study to meet the particular needs of client groups served by the College. To assess students in accordance with the requirements of the programme and to contribute to systems of quality and advice.
The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C/ 4-9), a qualification in the subject area at level 3 or higher, and a level 5 qualification in Teaching or willingness to undertake within an agreed timescale. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
