CU Coventry is significantly investing in our teaching and learning strategy and in substantial campus estates development. We have recently been ranked as 13th UK University and the country’s top modern university, according to the Guardian University Guide 2019.

Health and Life Sciences has an outstanding reputation for teaching and learning. In particular, 94% of our graduates are in employment or further study within six months of graduating.  We are firmly focused on preparing students for successful careers, in the context of industry’s current and future demands.

We require a member of staff with the ability to take on the role of Course Leader for our degree in Applied Biosciences, as well as teach across Biosciences (Microbiology, Pathophysiology, Cell and Molecular biology, and Biochemistry) within the Health and Life Sciences area.  You will be taking on the Course Leader’s role, and teaching on, an expanding and developing curriculum provision. This is therefore an ideal opportunity to become a valued leader.

Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s Degree or equivalent industrial experience in a relevant area of Health and Life Sciences. Experience of supervising staff would be preferable, experience of teaching and supervising student project work is essential, as would possession of a recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to gain one). Experience of employer engagement is also preferable.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and an inspirational leader, and be able to communicate with students, tutors and academia at all levels.

Duties include team and course management, co-ordination of modules, a teaching element and employer liaison.

The ambition to succeed in a competitive arena is essential with a focus on creating an outstanding academic student experience.

Closing Date: 30th November 2020.
