Subject Leader: Design (Chelsea Centre for the Creative Industries)
36 hours per week FTE (to include some evenings and occasional weekends)
Chelsea Centre for the Creative Industries is looking to appoint a Subject Leader for Design who will be responsible for the curriculum in this sector area including UAL L2 and L3 Diplomas in Graphics, Interiors as well as a range of short courses. The Subject Leader will lead on the management of tutors, departmental resources and quality assurance.
You will have a relevant undergraduate degree and teaching qualification and have confidence of teaching in further education including 16-19 study programmes. You will have the ability to deliver a high-quality learner experience and contemporary industry relevant practice. Established in 1889, and with our roots stretching back even further, Morley College London is one of the country's oldest and largest specialist providers of adult education. At Morley College London, we provide long-term, sustainable and affordable programmes of lifelong learning across three centres – North Kensington, Chelsea and Waterloo – including 16-19 provision at North Kensington and Chelsea.
Following Morley College’s merger with Kensington and Chelsea College in February 2020, the College has restructured its curriculum to facilitate its ambitious plan for development and growth, with aim of the Chelsea Centre becoming a leading institution for skills education in the Creative Arts and Industries as well as addressing the essential skills needs of the local community.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Head of Design to develop a new innovative curriculum that meets the needs of the current and future Creative Industries. The Subject Leader for Design will continue to grow a portfolio of courses with current plans to introduce for 2021 a UAL L3 Graphics, Illustration & Game Arts provision as well as Foundation Diploma in Design and a range of exciting short courses.
