Pembrokeshire College has an opportunity for a lecturer to join the Sport and Public Services department teaching on a variety of courses within these subject areas.

Salary Details: Scale: ALS1-4 (£18.26 - £21.54 per hour - without teaching qualification)
MG1-UP1 (£22.02 - £33.42  per hour - with teaching qualification)       Opportunity to progress onto a further scale
UP2-UP3 (£34.66– £35.93 per hour)

Hours of Work: Part - time variable hours (hours to be confirmed)

In the main hours will be timetabled in advance (once confirmed) but occasional sickness cover may be required at short notice.

Contract Type: Hourly paid—initially fixed term to 30/06/2021

Qualifications:

  • Hold a relevant Degree in Sport/Physical Education or Public Services related qualification at a minimum Level 6 and have substantive knowledge within these subject areas.
  • If you do not already hold an appropriate teaching qualification such as, PGCE, AET or A1 Assessing Award you may be required to undertake and achieve this during your employment, dependent on the length of contract offered and number of hours undertaken.

You will ideally be an experienced lecturer who is able to plan and deliver theoretical and practical teaching sessions and undertake the role of course tutor within the curriculum areas.   You will be required to teach level 1, 2 & 3 courses in Sport and Public Services and ideally have substantive knowledge within these subject areas.

As part of the College’s blended learning programmes, it is likely that you will be required to teach learners remotely.  You will therefore be IT literate and confident with engaging with technology for teaching.  Experience of remote delivery of learning would be advantageous.
