Established in 1889, and with our roots stretching back even further, Morley College London is one of the country's oldest and largest specialist providers of adult education. About the role

We require an industry experienced technician who wishes to join the highly successful Jewellery and Glass department based at the North Kensington site. You must be able to maintain a clean and tidy working environment in specialist studios according to Health & Safety regulations, carry out routine maintenance of industrial and domestic equipment and organise the servicing of specialist equipment including Kilns. You will need to have experience with the protocol and technical aspects of firing work and managing the use of a kiln.

You will be assisting lecturing staff to prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons and supporting in the studio with technical issues and specialist equipment.

The role requires the applicant to have an up to date knowledge and understanding of contemporary practices and discourses within the specialist fields. The successful applicant will need to support the cohort of adult learners to enable them to develop the appropriate knowledge, skills and understanding to achieve.

The successful candidate is required to work effectively within the team so we are looking for an individual with very good organisational and strong communication skills, experience of working as a technician in a busy department and a sound knowledge of quality assurance processes.
