SGS College have an exciting opportunity for an Education & Wellbeing Mentor at our Stroud campus.

Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time and Term-Time Only
Hours: 30.75 hours per week and 36 weeks per year

 SGS College have an exciting opportunity for an Education & Wellbeing Mentor at our Stroud campus. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • To provide pastoral support sessions for learners identified as “at risk” 
  • To work collaboratively with stakeholders and enhance learner progress, achievement and wellbeing
  • To undertake the role of a College Safeguarding Officer and to follow processes and procedures as detailed in the College’s ‘Safeguarding Children, Young people and Vulnerable Adults Policy and Procedure’
  • To participate in the organisation and delivery of relevant learner enrichment activities and group work programmes

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Full Level 3 Qualification and Level 2 Safeguarding Qualification/experience
  • Experience of working with young people aged 14 + with emotional, social, mental health and wellbeing issues
  • High levels of personal integrity and respect for others
  • Positive and proactive in responding to the needs of the College, learners and other staff
