Up to 29.6 hours per week
We are looking to enhance our team of Counselling lecturers who teach on our highly successful and popular Counselling Foundation Degrees and BA with Honours programmes in the School of Business, Health and Technology. Our excellent quality Counselling provision attracts a high volume of students and our team are proud to be offering a newly validated Lancaster Foundation Degree and associated BSc top up degree.
This is an exciting and dynamic time for Counselling as a whole and at the University Centre at Blackburn College we are reflecting this by enhancing our Counselling provision to ensure the currency and relevance of our course to meet the challenges of today’s job market.
You will play a key role in the teaching team on the Counselling programmes and more widely across the School of Business, Health and Technology. With an Honours degree and Masters degree in a relevant discipline and British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accreditation or equivalent practice experience, you will demonstrate a clear and comprehensive understanding of contemporary developments within the Counselling sector. You must currently be a practising counsellor with experience of teaching or research.
As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

*The market premium will be payable to successful candidates who have 12 months teaching experience in counselling based subjects (excluding experience gained during your teaching qualification), three years’ experience in a counselling role and a Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
