Fixed Term until 31st August 2020

Askham Bryan College is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

We now have an opportunity become available in Keighley. Within the role you will be required to travel across the region, more of which will be discussed at interview.  This position is on a fixed term basis until 31st August 2020.

As well as lecturing / assessing for 2 consecutive Prince's Trust Team Programme, this role is also an essential link in the relationship between the College and the Prince's Trust.

You will act as Team Leader and Course Manager to allocated groups of learners, supporting them in both an academic and personal development function. The support will also continue onto the teaching team, where you will provide a link for pastoral care and be responsible for the whole programme from start to finish.

You'll also be recruiting students for the Team programme, liaising with referral and support agencies to ensure a smooth transition of students throughout the programme. You will also participate in training and development courses, research, secondment and personal contact in order to keep up to date in technical and education expertise as well as those skills necessary to effectively tutor and assess clients.

Educated to degree level or equivalent with a teaching qualification, the successful candidates will need solid experience of personal and social development of young people who face multiple barriers (such as behavioural problems, NEETs, mental health issues, homelessness, history of drug abuse etc). Working knowledge of the Prince's Trust, multi-agency working and managing/assessing the FE provision at Foundation Level learning are essential qualities.

Askham Bryan ultimately needs individuals who can work well in stressful and demanding circumstances, can quickly gain the respect of and form positive working relationships with young people and have the constant drive to do well and truly make a difference.

In return we offer a competitive salary, excellent holiday entitlement, staff benefits scheme and the opportunity to work within some wonderful rural locations.

Closing Date: 28th November 2019.

Interviews will be held at our York Campus on Friday 6th December 2019.

Please apply via the link.
