Community Tutor - Beginners IT

We are seeking an enthusiastic hourly paid IT tutor to join our community learning team. Applicants will be required to teach basic IT such as setting up emails and using search engines to large groups of beginners.

There will be the chance to design and develop a creative programme in the first instance which will engage and retain our learners, some of whom won't have been in education for a while.

Delivery will take place on Mondays between 10.00am and 2.00pm at the Woodlands Campus. Sessions will initially run for 4 weeks from 25th November 2019 and delivery will be to jobseekers to improve their digital skills.

Whilst experience of teaching basic IT skills is desirable, consideration would be given to a gifted enthusiast with the relevant skills to work with students who may lack confidence and need lots of individual support. You will have excellent communication and positive 'can do' attitude and have the ability to work as part of a team and independently.

You must have a teaching qualification or be prepared to work towards one in order to deliver all programmes in a timely manner to ensure high levels of student satisfaction, attendance, retention and ultimately success. You will be an excellent administrator - well organised and able to meet deadlines. You will also be required to build student portfolios methodically in line with awarding body requirements for their qualification.

You will be expected to attend termly community meetings and complete online mandatory training.
