LRC Intern (Library Resource Centre)

Full time, 1 year Fixed Term Contract

Askham Bryan College is a large and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intern to work within the Learning Resources Centre (IT and Learning Resources teams) here at York. You will assist with the provision of an efficient and effective service to students and staff across all Centres. This role would be ideal for a graduate looking to gain experience in libraries and/or IT and is a fixed term post for one year.

The role will involve dealing with user enquiries, issuing and returning books and assisting with other learning resources projects as part of the ongoing development of the LRC. It will also involve taking calls on the IT Service Desk and escalating them to IT appropriately, fixing minor problems such as interactive whiteboards and installing hardware and software across the College under the direction of IT technicians.

We are looking for someone who has Level 2 qualifications and an interest in working in a learning resources/library environment and learning more about the IT sector. With a good understanding about IT systems and a Microsoft environment, you will be customer focused and able to complete work accurately.
