Working week: Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 4.00pm, Friday 7.00am – 1.00pm.​

 Total hours per week: 38.00

To assist Fitters and gain a recognised mechanical qualification. To work to the instructions of Senior Fitters/Fitters, Installation quality, maintain Health and safety of oneself and others.

Key Tasks

Assist with pipe work assembly, including but not limited to:

• Working with a variety pipes
• Inspection and testing of pipe installation
• Fault finding
• Understanding documentation and plans/drawings
• Processing information and using required/appropriate tools

Carry out other tasks as directed by Senior Fitter/Fitter, including but not limited to:

• Selecting required tools for the job
• Setting out tools whilst managing own work area
• Reading manufacturer instructions
• Measuring, cutting, marking out
• Restoring working area to customer requirements
• Implementing health and safety best practices

Gain experience and skills with a view to advancement to Intermediate Fitter both through work-based experience and development and through day release attendance at college.

Maintain good housekeeping standards adhering to 5S standards to maintain customer satisfaction.

Achieve Level 2 mechanical qualification, through apprenticeship training with both on-the-job training and attendance at college.
