Tackling Inactivity Student Progress and Performance Tutor

This is a fixed term appointment to 31 August 2020

(36.66 hours per week; term time over 38 weeks)       

It is usual for new appointees to commence at the bottom of the scale with progression on an annual incremental basis.

Doncaster College is seeking to recruit a Student Progress and Performance Tutor to facilitate the Sport England Tackling Inactivity project to increase student participation through informal and social sport/activity in College and in the wider community.

The successful candidate will possess or be willing to work towards the Certificate in Education and Training or an Award in Education and Training level 3 as well as a Level 2 in Maths and English.

You will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with young people in a tutoring, mentoring or coaching role within sport and have an understanding of teaching and learning in the context of one to one and group tutorials.

They will be confident and enthusiastic to deliver sports and exercise activities to a range of abilities as well as promote and encourage young people to take part in physical activity.

A good understanding of Sport England’s latest strategy including Youth Personalities research and methods to overcome barriers to participation in physical activity is key.

The ability to work to deadlines, whilst managing and prioritising effectively and be able to manage complex and demanding casework. You should also have the ability to understand and analyse data to improve student attendance and performance.
