Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Keeper to join our Animal Management team at York. This is a permanent role, working 22.2 hours per week, predominantly on weekends and Mondays for our kennels and cattery, although flexibility will be required to support our other units.

The successful candidate will assist in the organisation of the animal unit and will oversee the care and welfare of animals under the direction of Head of Department. They will be involved in the day to day routine husbandry and maintenance duties on the animal unit and also contribute to the provision of practical animal resources to meet the needs of the curriculum.

Educated to level 3 or above in an animal related subject, candidates should have a good understanding of the needs of various types of animals. Previous experience of working in kennels and/or cattery is required.

Candidates should be self-motivated and able to work without day to day supervision whilst also being able to communicate effectively with colleagues, students and people at all levels. They should also be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service.

In return, you will receive a generous holiday allowance of 35 days per week plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata), ample free parking, canteen facilities and a range of employee benefits.
