SGS College’s Apprenticeships Team have an exciting opportunity for a Security Lecturer / Skills Coach with electrical experience and qualifications to lead on the Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Apprenticeship Scheme.

Responsible for teaching and assessing apprenticeship provision within this sector from induction through to completion, the role will include lecturing core and electrical specialist modules, tracking and monitoring learner progress and updating the e-portfolio system; the Electrical and Security Apprenticeships Lecturer will work closely with the Technical Programme Manager to monitor and support the recruitment, initial assessment and identification of learning needs as well as consistently reviewing and improving the Electrical and Security Apprenticeship provision.

This role will include communication with employers and some travelling to see the learner on site.

This role requires the applicant to have electrical occupational competence and qualifications. Security experience and qualifications are desirable but not essential. Teaching and assessing qualifications are also desirable but not essential.

A good knowledge of IT is preferable as the role will be utilising excel spreadsheets, Microsoft workflows, Smart Assessor e-portfolio system and Microsoft Word.
