This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, committed and innovative individual to join a large, dynamic and successful team, working at our purpose built Engineering centre.

The purpose of this rewarding role is to make a significant contribution to the effective delivery of the curriculum, in line with the College’s Quality Improvement Strategy and to ensure a high quality and relevant learning experience for all students on the courses.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to teach Maths in Engineering, from GCSE level up to Engineering Maths at level 4.  The successful candidate will also be required to assess students in accordance with the requirements of the programme and college internal quality systems. You will also be expected to assist in the effective organisation of the department by engaging in the planning process by producing appropriate schemes of work, lesson plans etc.

The qualifications deemed essential for the post are:

  • A relevant up to date qualification in subject area at Level 3 or above in Maths.
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in literacy (e.g. GCSE English at grade A*-C).
  • A level 5 teaching qualification.

As a learning organisation and as part of our commitment to your continued professional development we may require you to complete an apprenticeship standard or framework that relates to this opportunity. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
