Hours: Full time - 48 hours per week

Reaseheath College is looking to recruit a highly motivated Dairy Herdsperson to join our farm team. Answerable to the Dairy herd manager, the successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the dairy herds operation, including milking duties, herd health, AI and foot care, youngstock care, dry cow care and estate skills.
We are a mixed farm consisting of Dairy, Sheep, Pig and 600 acre Arable departments.
Our main role is to act as a teaching resource for the Agriculture department and the wider college.
The Dairy herd currently consists of 200 Pedigree Holstein cows with a herd average of 10,484L.
The Dairy Team is responsible for demonstrating the very highest levels of best practice throughout the unit from dairy hygiene and animal welfare to communication and student Development.
The successful candidate would work closely with the other members of the dairy team and must be willing to take on responsibilities to allow the unit manager to work on expansion projects and wider college projects.
As a team member you will be responsible for the ensuring that the unit delivers the learner experience that is required by the Agricultural Curriculum department whilst ensuring the farm operates to the very highest standards as a commercial unit. As such some instructing of students in farm tasks will be required.
The Dairy Team is also responsible for growing and maintaining the brand of Reaseheath both as a college and a farming business, engaging with industry and returning new industry thinking to the college.
This is an exciting and engaging Role. The successful candidate will not only be able to operate at the top of UK dairy production but have the ability to directly influence the next generation entering the sector.
