Situated in the heart of Croydon, a large and lively London borough with excellent transport links, we offer a stimulating working environment within our well-regarded College. The College has a significant FE and HE provision and has excellent facilities.
The College has a vacancy for a FTE Term time only Learning Support Practitioner for Higher Education.
The post holder will work under the direction and / or supervision of the Head of Higher Education (HE) to provide support and coaching to HE students. The key purpose of the role is to work closely with HE students who have been identified as having additional learning support needs as for the measures for the Office of Students. The post holder will also to support the HE teams with the creation of the HE Tutorial programme and assist the Cross-College work placement team with employability related activities for Higher Education students.
This post will play a key role in contributing to the development of this client-centred service and will be responsible for ensuring that students/individuals are able to access the best information, support, advice and resources to make effective choices in the context of education, skills,training and employment.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, have extensive experience of providing Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to adults within an educational setting, and be able to work effectively to meet changing priorities.
An understanding of the support needs of students with learning difficulties,disabilities and mental health difficulties / Councillor Diploma
Level 2 learning support qualification or commitment to achieve within a reasonable time scale.
There will be occasional evening and weekend working.
