The Student Support team at Plymouth College of Art is looking for a dedicated, motivated and knowledgeable special education needs professional to work with Further Education students in our dedicated and innovative Pre-Degree Centre.   

You will be experienced as a SENCO and have a breadth of experience of working with young people with additional needs.  The role requires solid knowledge of reasonable adjustments and inclusivity and will support requirements of new students each year, ensuring a positive transition and relationship with students and parents from initial enquiry through to successful completion of the course.  This will include the management of the team of pre-degree specialist support workers, allocating support to a cohort of students identifying those with complex needs, training and creating individual learning plans.  

You will also coordinate and administer the EHCP and funding processes through liaison with students, schools, local authorities, parents and other stakeholders.  

A key part of the role will be to use personal skills and judgement to deal with complex cases and to problem solve on a daily basis, ensuring confidentiality and the provision of excellent customer service at all times.
