We are seeking to appoint a Mentor for High Need Students.  Reporting to the Head of Learning Support, you will meet with students who have been referred by Learning Support to receive mentoring on a one-to-one basis, supporting them to find solutions to their problems, agreeing targets and working towards desired outcomes. You will help the students with issues such as managing emotions, problems relating to family and friendships, self-confidence and sexuality. 

You should have experience of working with young people in a supportive capacity and will have excellent communication, listening and inter-personal skills. You should be able to demonstrate an ability to engage effectively and build trust with young people whilst maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. A good understanding of Safeguarding issues is essential, and a qualification in coaching, counselling or mentoring is desirable.
