We are looking for a motivated and creative Press and Digital Content Assistant to join our busy Brand and Communications Team at Plymouth College of Art.
As our Press and Digital Content Assistant you will write and create content to secure national coverage to celebrate the successes of Plymouth College of Art’s people, projects, exhibitions and events, arts and culture. You’ll also research, write, manage and produce compelling visual content for our website, prospectus, social channels and a variety of printed and digital communications. You’ll help us to communicate our values accurately to a variety of audiences in order to expose the wealth of exceptional creativity here.
Your role will involve acting as a ‘brand storyteller’ – seeking out, writing, and uploading stories about our students, alumni, staff, exhibitions, events and more. An interest in what makes content sing across social, online and print, a love of language and the ability to write quickly and precisely are essential. As a large part of your time will be spent working with established and emerging artists and makers, an interest in contemporary arts and culture would be advantageous. The tenacity to chase busy creative people and excellent time management skills are also key.
Ideally you’ll have proven experience of researching and creating successful content for a multitude of channels and the creativity to tell stories through text, photograph, video and more. As we’re a results-driven team, you’ll be required to help meet targets for press coverage, recording the impact of your communications.
This role also includes responsibilities related to the creation and distribution of regular email newsletters for a variety of audiences, from internal staff and student comms to external mailers for a public audience with the aim of building positive brand reputation and engagement.
You’ll also be responsible for updating externally listed profiles about the college (such as Wikipedia) and continually building on the number and richness of student and alumni reviews across the most relevant and high impact online channels, as well as planning and executing compelling entries to sector-specific awards and competitions.
