At Study Group, our students travel from 142 different countries to study on our Higher Education preparatory courses. The students are miles from their family and will be faced with a new culture, lifestyle, and learning environment. We strive to create a better world through education and value passionate people that share the same passion.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our brand new University of Aberdeen International Study Centre. As part of the senior management team you will provide operational leadership for the Professional Services functions as you create and implement the processes that will drive the day to day running of the centre.

We are offering an unpredictable working environment where the pace will be fast, so you will need to be calm under pressure, and able to create a positive working environment during the peak periods. We are an entrepreneurial business, offering ample opportunity for you to develop within this role, whilst having the opportunity to collaborate with a wider Professional Services Network and the University.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This exciting job role will provide the leadership and vision to support sector leading services to students, staff and other key stakeholders. You will play a vital role within the Senior Management Team in achieving the delivery of the best possible student outcomes and experience.

You will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of Professional Services staff and ensuring that services to students work in harmony with academic delivery. Reporting to the Head of Centre, you will work closely with senior colleagues within and outside of the Centre and be accountable for the delivery of exceptional service provision. Critically you will need to carefully balance the requirements of the College alongside the need for consistency and collaboration with the University and Study Group as a whole.

Your role will be to provide leadership and accountability for and direct line management responsibility of a team of x3 administration staff who will execute and operationalise the development and enhancement plans for the area.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • You will have recent successful line management experience in an academic service discipline and have the ability to successfully engage in process development.
  • Experience of managing staff in an office environment.
  • Experience of data management and interpretation, and quality assurance.
  • Experience of providing advice, guidance or student support in the context of education or training.
