Reaseheath College prides itself on its inclusive approach to student support, assisting an increasing number of learners with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities to access Further Education and Apprenticeships.
The Learning Skills Centre (LSC) team provides essential support to learners. It works in partnership with curriculum staff across the college in all areas to support students to overcome any barriers to learning and help them to realise their potential.
The College is looking for people who have experience of successfully delivering support and guidance to young people and vulnerable adults to join its LSC team. You may have experience of having worked professionally with young people and/or vulnerable adults in an educational or care setting, which you could bring to the team.
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the impact of specific learning difficulties, mental health difficulties and disabilities on learning, experience of promoting diversity and social inclusion and a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above (or equivalent) are essential. Extensive experience in a support role and proficiency in MS Office applications are essential.
The role requires provision of individual and/or group support to students in classroom based and practical sessions, in addition to chairing EHCP reviews. Advance Inclusive Learning Practitioners provide specialised support interventions in addition to monitoring and reviewing student support plans and progression.
Please note this role constitutes 'regulated activity' as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment.
Please note, you must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
