Job summary

To develop and grow skills and knowledge in IT systems used internally by staff through ‘on the job’ and formal training. You will provide support to other teams in related activities across the company. You are required to provide an excellent customer experience to the internal customers you support whilst resolving issues.

Key result areas

  • To develop knowledge and understanding of internally used products and services available to internal customers
  • To learn and develop understanding of the technical systems and processes used within the Team
  • To learn and develop understanding of the interaction of the Technical Team with other departments
  • To develop understanding of Blue Chip internal customers and their requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation for systems and applications as required
  • Support Technical Team members in completing basic technical and software activities for colleagues
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments
  • Learn about the IT Industry and maintain that knowledge going forward
  • Be a productive member of the Technical Team
  • Attend college and complete course work to required standard
  • Proactive involvement in small projects
  • Travelling between sites to resolve issues and support colleagues
  • Willingness to work unsociable hours if required
  • Hardware and software maintenance of computer systems
  • To understand and fulfil the responsibilities for secure management of personal data of both internal and external customers in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018

Things to consider

  • Full UK Driving License preferred as you may need to drive company vehicles or your person car to data centre sites based in Bedford

Entry requirements

  • Five GCSE’s C/4-A/9 including English and Maths are desirable

Skills Required

  • Education level of A* - C grades
  • Ability to understand IT concepts
  • Ability to follow instructions well and focus on the task in hand
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Ability to achieve targets and meet deadlines
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Good team player
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to conform to Blue Chip policies and procedures
  • Previous experience in supporting Windows systems
  • Experience supporting IOS and/or Android is ideal
  • Full UK Driving License preferred
