Sport Technician and Assistant
Do you have an unequivocal commitment to excellence and want to inspire others? If so, we are looking for you to join our Sports team! We are seeking a talented individual, with relevant working knowledge of the Sport industry, to positively influence the student experience through sport.
In this varied and dynamic role, you will provide practical skilled assistance in the outdoor environment, liaising with staff to prepare and set up practical resources for outdoor adventure sport classes, supporting and monitoring students as required. Additionally, you will be required to undertake the day-to-day supervison of the Recreational Centre facilities and university teams under the direction of the Sports Development Officer, to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Duties include supporting enrolments and administration to sports teams and all sports related activities, organising sport classes and conducting gym induction for all new members. You will also work in close partnership with the Student Union, promoting the University College Gym and recreational services.
To be successful you will have previous experience in a similar role, or working in the Sports Industry, and hold a BCU Level 1 canoe/kayak coaching award or equivalent (D). It would also be advantageous to hold a Level 2 Fitness Instructing qualification, along with navigational skills with map/compass/grid references.
