Askham Bryan College is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
Our Learning Support Practitioners provide additional support and care to students with learning difficulties or disabilities across the College.
We are currently recruiting for full time, part time and variable hours roles. We are looking for people with experience of supporting young people on a 1:1 or small group basis in an educational setting. We would expect applicants to have an understanding of some of the following Special Educational Needs – Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, social, emotional difficulties, speech, language and communication difficulties, dyspraxia and moderate to severe general learning difficulties.
Although you may be deployed across our curriculum areas, we are keen to place staff according to particular experience and subject knowledge. At our York Campus, we have learning support vacancies in Animal Care, Countryside Management, Foundation Learning, Horticulture, Land-Based Technology, Sport and Uniformed Public Services. In addition, we require suitably qualified and experienced staff for our maths and English department to specifically assist in supporting the delivery of functional and GSCE maths and English qualifications.
If you would like work part time, please also indicate this in your application, along with the days you would like to work.
The successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check.
