HE Subject Specialist Lecturer/Academic Advocate: Health & Well-being (70%)

We have 2 established University Centres in the DN Colleges Group - University Campus North Lincolnshire (in Scunthorpe) and University Centre Doncaster. We currently have around 2.200 Higher Education students enrolled on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; this is expected to increase to 2,500 next year across the 2 campuses.

We work with the University of Lincoln, University of Hull and Sheffield Hallam University as awarding bodies and have a rapidly developing portfolio of Higher and Degree Apprenticeship provision.

A range of exciting opportunities for Subject Specialists are now available as we seek to expand our staffing base. These full-time and fractional posts are all focused on higher education teaching and the higher education student experience.  Successful applicants would be appointed to DN Colleges Group contracts with one of our campuses as the primary place of work.  We may, however, require individuals to undertake some teaching or other scholarly activity at both locations.

We are seeking to appoint a Subject Specialist Lecturer/Academic Advocate for Health and Well-being. Working within University Campus North Lincolnshire (UCNL), the postholder will be required to assume responsibility for teaching and the provision of personal academic support to students on our Health and Well-being programmes.

The postholder will work within the cognate area of Health, Life and Social Sciences, which includes programmes related to Health and Social Care and the Higher-Level Apprenticeship – Healthcare Assistant Practitioner.

All staff are required to participate fully in the appropriate university subject-based committees and examination boards, liaise with external examiners and implement the quality assurance and enhancement processes of UCNL effectively. In seeking to appoint to the current vacancy, an individual with subject specialism related to Contemporary Issues in Health and Social Care, Mental Health, Older Adult Care (Dementia) and Leadership and Management would complement the current team.

We currently have around 1,200 higher education students across all subject areas within University Campus North Lincolnshire (UCNL)

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Sarah Mullins Or Gillian Reid, Joint Cognate Area Leader – Health, Life and Social Sciences on 01724 294680 or 01724 295377.
