County Training, as part of Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College, are the largest training provider in Shropshire, operating from several bases across the county. We are a major provider of apprenticeships and work-based training, as well as adult learning programmes and full time study programmes for young people seeking to progress into further education or employment. We work closely with businesses and employers across the region, as well as other stakeholders such as local councils.
As part of the ongoing development of County Training's offer to employers and young people, we are seeking to complement our existing delivery team with a full-time tutor to deliver Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications to learners on a range of full and part time programmes of study, including apprenticeships. The post holder(s) will be based in Shrewsbury with the ability to travel to other County Training centres in Shropshire including Telford, Whitchurch, Ludlow and Oswestry, to apprenticeship workplaces and to deliver to other student groups located at various venues throughout Shropshire. The ability to teach GCSE Maths or English and/or Employability Skills is also desirable but not essential.
Applicants should ideally have, or be currently working towards a relevant teaching qualification and have some teaching, mentoring or learning support experience in either a school, work-based-learning or further education environment.
However, those without teaching experience but willing to train towards are welcome to apply.
