Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England. Our campus at Newton Rigg is located near Penrith, Cumbria, and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery at the very heart of this rural, farming community. The college trains and develops a wide range of learners from the county and across the country.
As part of their Study Programme, our students will undertake work experience, enrichment and student CPD. We are working towards the centralisation of all these elements of the Study Programme in order to deliver a vibrant programme that will enhance the lifelong employability stills of our students.
We are looking for an individual who will deliver high quality professional development sessions to students and provide effective coaching in both group settings and on an individual basis where appropriate. They will support students in preparation for work experience, in building an online portfolio of their experience and achievements and will work with team members to ensure that students have appropriate IAG to facilitate progression and employability.
Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a Level 5 treaching qualification (or be willing to achieve this within two years of appointment). In addition, a high level of proficiency in use of the online platforms will be required. Applicants should have a thorough knowledge of tutorial and enrichment processes and an excellent understanding of student engagement and motivation in developing employability skills. With outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, successful candidates will have proven experience of providing high standards of support in delivery of employability skills development.
